BOURBON – There weren’t any surprises Wednesday night at the Triton Boys Basketball Sectional. Game favorites Argos and Oregon-Davis took care of business to set up their bracket semi-final as the Class 1-A sectional rolled on.

Argos used a 24-3 run to bury the Academy in a 59-31 victory in the first game. A 33-17 first half lead jettisoned into a defensive marvel in third where the Dragons allowed just two points in putting the game on ice.

Drew Bollenbacher led the Dragons on offense with 20 points on 10-13 shooting from the floor and Vincent Stone added 16 points.

Jerral Sutherland led the Trailblazers (7-17) with eight points.

Oregon-Davis also used a hot first half to get the distance it needed to stay ahead of South Central (Union Mills) in a 61-44 result. The Bobcats took a 17-7 lead in the first quarter and pushed its lead to 14 at the half, 30-16, and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game.

O-D shot 56 percent from three-point range, going 10-18 led by the seven makes by Trevor Risner, who finished with 24 points. Aaron Parker added 13 points for the Bobcats.

The Satellites, on the other hand, were just 3-18 from deep (17 percent) in contrast to the 16-30 they shot from two-point range. Garrett Hewlett finished with 12 points and Carson Husmann had 11 points for the Satellites, which bow out of the state tournament at 8-15.

Argos (15-8) and Oregon-Davis (18-6) will square off in game two of Friday night’s sectional semi’s. O-D won the regular season matchup 53-47 on Jan. 13. Game one of the night, a 6:30 p.m. tip, will feature Triton (17-5) against Culver (12-10).
