BOURBON – Triton played one of its classic games of cat and mouse, coming out victorious Tuesday night against Rochester, 52-49, in boys buckets.

Rochester held the lead by two and the half and by one at the end of the third, but a back-and-forth affair had Triton come out with its 14th win of the season. The biggest lead of the game for either side had Triton up 18-12 to start the second quarter, only for the Zebras to rally to take a 28-26 lead at the half.

Zac Pitney has become the driving force for the Triton offense, dropping 22 more points Tuesday.

Beau Hepler hit three from deep and finished with 11 points for the Trojans, and Grant Johnson added 10 points, six boards, four assists, three blocks and three steals in an all-around needed effort.

Ben Perez paced Rochester (4-15) with 13 points and Austin Utter added 11 points.

Triton (14-5) has won six straight and 10 of its last 11 games dating back to the turn of the 2017 calendar.

Tye Orsund had 12 points to pace the Trojan JV to a 45-36 win over Rochester. Jerry Plummer, Zachary Graham and Gary Plummer all had eight points for Rochester.

Rochester will host Peru Friday in a Three Rivers Conference matchup while Triton will invite in backyard rival Tippecanoe Valley also on Friday night.
