Hallie J. Self
Hallie J. Self, 87, Warsaw, passed away at 10:03 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born on March 19, 1929 to Jessie “Hall” and Viola “Odie” (Howerton) Self in Hitchita, Okla.
Hallie and his wife have lived in Warsaw since 2004. On July 10, 1952 he married Leda Murry in Okmulgee, Okla. and on July 10, 2017 they would have been married 65 years.
He honorably served with the US Army from 1951 to 1953 in the artillery. He was employed by Rockwell International as a machinist.
Hallie enjoyed NCAA Basketball, gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Leda Self of Warsaw; a son, Barry (and spouse Cynthia) Self of Warsaw; daughters: Linda (and spouse Dwayne) of Warsaw; and Shirley (and spouse John) Hepler of California; a sister, Joyce (and spouse Floyd) Baldridge of Okmulgee, Okla.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be private. Burial will be held in his hometown (Hitchita, Okla.) at a later date
