NorthWood Football: Bilinski Tabs Valparaiso

NorthWood SportsNAPPANEE – NorthWood star quarterback Trey Bilinski will continue his football career at Valparaiso University.

Bilinski directed the Panthers to a Class 4-A state runner-up finish this past fall. NorthWood won its first 14 games before losing to Roncalli 34-22 in the state title game.

Bilinski was 204-353 passing his senior season for 3,325 yards and 39 touchdowns for coach Nate Andrews’ team. The Panthers went 7-0 to claim the Northern Lakes Conference title before winning sectional, regional and semistate championships.

Bilinski, a 6-3, 190-pounder, earned first-team All-State honors in Class 4-A and was also an Academic All-State selection.

Bilinski is also a starter on NorthWood’s basketball team, which is 14-1 on the season. He averages 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game for coach Aaron Wolfe’s squad on the hardwood.

Valparaiso finished 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the Pioneer Football League during the 2016 season. Dave Cecchini is 9-24 in his three seasons as coach of the Crusaders.
