The second season is here for girls basketball, wrestling and swimming all around the state.

Sectional basketball tournaments in four classes involving 397 teams in Indiana will start Tuesday and culminate on Feb. 25 at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis for the IHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals. Locally, the girls basketball sectional draws that took place Sunday, Jan. 22 developed the road map for teams looking for its share of the glory. The IHSAA has a universal ticket policy in place for the tournament, which is $6 per session or $10 for all games of the sectional. School all-sport passes will not be accepted for admission to any tournament.

Girls swimming sectionals crank up across the state, with 20 sectionals hosting 239 teams. Each champion individual within the 11 swimming events will automatically qualify for the IHSAA Girls Swimming Finals on Feb. 10-11 at IUPUI in Indianapolis. The top four divers from the sectional round advances to the diving regionals on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Tickets are $6 per person for one day or $10 per person for both days.

Wrestling’s state tournament begins this Saturday at sites across the state. The top four individuals in each of the 14 weight classes from 32 different sectionals advance to the regional round next Saturday, Feb. 4. Tickets are $6 per person.
