Paul M. Berger, 69, Warsaw, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 in his residence.

On Nov. 12, 1947, he was born in Warsaw to Paul and Mary Adelaine (Sponseller) Berger.  He was united in marriage to Linda Burnett on Dec. 21, 1979 in Warsaw, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Mike graduated from Triton High School, Bourbon.  He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1967 – 1969.  Mike worked for Birko Corp. for twenty years, and then worked in maintenance for Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake for eight years, retiring in 2013.

Mike was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Warsaw.  He loved cats and he will be sadly missed by his cat, Buddy.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Berger, Warsaw; three children: Tim (and spouse Molly) Berger, Bourbon; Tracy Berger and her spouse Bill Melleville, Warsaw; and Joshua Berger and his companion Rachel Cox, Silver Lake; one sister, Carol Butgereit, Plymouth; and four grandchildren, Megan Berger, Bourbon; Sam Melville, Warsaw; Jake Melville, Warsaw; and Robby Emkow, Tippecanoe.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Berger and his grandson, Jacob Berger.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in Warsaw Baptist Church, 2005 Fisher Avenue, Warsaw, IN 46580 with Reverend Joshua Goepfrich officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126, Warsaw.  Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation hours will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 in the Church.
