Vanetta A. “Peg” Garber, 90, Warsaw, passed away at 4 a.m. Jan. 19, 2017, at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw.

She was born Nov. 19, 1926 in Norcatur, Kan. to Erhard and Eulalah (Chappel) Rydquist.

She graduated from Warsaw High School in the Class of 1944. On Sept. 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert C. “Gabby” Garber who preceded her in death on March 8, 2009.

She was a teller for Lake City Bank for 40 years and had also worked for Kline’s Department store and Skelgas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jon (and companion Jane Eaton) Garber of Claypool; three daughters: Lana Garber of Wabash; Janet Bilyew of North Manchester; and Sue (and spouse Mike) Sands of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brittany (and spouse Robbie) Olive, Amber (and spouse Mike) Feltner, and Lance Sands; along with five great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Treva Mann.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons, Jason and Brock Bilyew and a great grandson, McKale Olive.

A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw officiated by Pastor Mark Need. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel.
