LEESBURG — Leesburg Elementary students and their families were invited to attend Science Central Family Fun Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19. This is the first time the school has offered this event.

Leesburg Elementary Principal Nathan Polston said part of the purpose of the event was to help promote parent-child interaction.

The event, with the theme “Body Matters.” appeared to be a success. Eight interactive stations were manned by Leesburg staff. Students and their families were able to participate in table top activities. The stations included a skeleton station, cell station, fingerprint station and vision and hearing stations among others.

Polston was happy with the turnout and stated that “Everybody seems like they’re having a blast.”
