Warsaw Wrestling: Tigers End NLC On High Note

WARSAW – Warsaw’s wrestling team ended the regular season with a victory against Concord Wednesday evening at the Tiger Den. The Tigers came out on top, 42-27, to earn its first Northern Lakes Conference win of the season.

Warsaw got pins from Gavin Truex (182), Dillon Estepp (285), and Kyle Hatch (152). Hatch enters the postseason undefeated at 34-0 and is ranked No. 3 in the 152-pound weight class according to indianamat.com.

The Tigers also got valuable team points with wins from Brady Stout (160) and Isaiah Owens (106).

Mick Stewart, Brock Hogenson, and Austin Brown each collected forfeits at 113, 120, and 126.

A major factor in the victory was not giving up the bonus points in matches that were lost. There was tremendous competitiveness from guys that bumped up weight classes.

In JV action, Max Bradley and Andrew Owens picked up wins.

Warsaw finishes the dual season at 10-14 and 1-6 in the conference. Warsaw will be at Northridge on Saturday for the NLC Championships.
