COLUMBIA CITY – The Edgewood Middle School girls basketball teams opened their seasons Saturday in impressive fashion.

The Edgewood 7th grade ladies posted a pair of wins to capture the championship of the Indian Springs Tournament.

Edgewood topped Manchester 30-12 and then defeated the hosts 32-19 in the title game to win the tourney title.

The Edgewood 8th grade ladies also beat Manchester and Indian Springs to claim a championship.

Lindsey Bradley scored 11 points as the 8th grade edged past Manchester 34-33. Kensie Ryman had nine points and Audrey Grimm six for the winners. Brooklyn Fitzgerald and Kendra Love each added four points.

Ryman then scored 13 points as Edgewood topped the hosts 26-24 in the title game. Bradley had five points and both Love and Grimm had four each for the champions.
