Warsaw Gymnastics: Knights Trump Tigers On Opening Night

KENDALLVILLE – Warsaw’s lid lifter in the gymnastics season took off Tuesday evening at East Noble, and the hosts held its equipment in a 98.45-92.025 scoreline.

Remi Beckham was the standout for Warsaw in the opener, taking first on vault at 8.8, and third in both bars (7.625) and beam (7.5).

Megan Metzger placed third on vault at 8.6 in her first go-round as a freshman. Another rookie, Daylen Turner, scored an 8.55 on vault. Turner had Warsaw’s top score on floor at 7.7.

East Noble had several lead the team in its scoring columns. Alyssa Skiles had an 8.65 on vault and 7.925 on bars, Clare Honeycutt an 8.65 on beam and Maddie Fortman a 9.0 on floor. Skiles had the top East Noble all-around score with a 33.15, Turner posting Warsaw’s top all-around number at 29.9.

Warsaw will compete again Saturday at the Plymouth Invite.
