Wyatt Wayne McElroy, 9 months old, Columbia City, passed away unexpectedly at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Born 2 lbs. and 4 oz. on March 22, 2016, he was the son of Zachrey and Tiairia (VanDusen-Cox) McElroy.

He spent his first two months and two days at Parkview Regional Medical Center NICU before coming home to his family in Columbia City.  A happy and smiling beautiful baby boy, Wyatt loved hugging on his mom and his grandma, “Old Granny.” One to not like to watch cartoons, he enjoyed laying by his dad and watching TV shows with him or watching his dad or siblings play video games.  His first word was “Mum” and soon started calling his dad, “Bab.”

Wyatt leaves a very loving family, which includes his bab and mum, Zach and Tia McElroy; brothers: Adden Grimm and Ethan Evans; grandparents, Brent and Leah Gibson, of Columbia City; and Larry and Michelle Gordon, of Columbia City; great-grandparents, Gair and Paulette Dunham, of Columbia City; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Jeana Pontzius.

Visitation  is 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Memorial donations may be made in his memory towards his final expenses, I.C.O. DeMoney-Grimes.
