Mark L. Sievers, 56, Columbia City, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at his home.

He was born Feb. 21, 1960 in Columbia City, a son of Donald E. and Patricia L. (Cearbaugh) Sievers. He completed his education at Columbia City Joint High School.

On Aug. 20, 1976 he was united in marriage to Penni D. Golden. They moved to their current home south of Columbia City in 1983.

A meat cutter, Mark worked at different grocery stores throughout the area.

His memberships include New Hope Wesleyan Church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Penni; four children: Cory E. (Jane) Sievers of Columbia City; Keith R. (Angie) Sievers of Churubusco; Ryan L. (Carrie) Sievers and Nathon A. Sievers, both of Columbia City; six grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Malliyah, Grant, Hayden and Rohen; his father, Donald Sievers of Columbia City; two sisters and a brother, Debbie (Darl) Snodgrass, Vic Sievers and Lisa (William) Kincaid, all of Columbia City.

His mother preceded him in death.

The memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the family receiving friends after noon until 4 p.m.
