
Sherald L. Tam 82, Fulton, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.
He was born Dec. 20, 1934 in Royal Center, the son of Lemuel A. and Gladys I. (Gundrum) Tam. He was a 1952 graduate of Fulton High School where he played basketball and baseball for the Bulldogs. On Aug. 25, 1955 in Lucerne he married Marva Jean Baird and she survives.
Sherald had been a farmer. He was a lifelong fan of many sports, especially enjoyed watching his three sons and grandchildren when they played. An active member of the Rochester Fraternal Order of Eagles, he enjoyed socializing and playing cards with his many friends. On his priority list, was the fall fishing trips to Wisconsin with his sons and special friends, as well as doing his own meat processing for many years.
Survivors include his wife of sixty two years, Marva Jean Tam, Fulton; sons: Brad Lee and wife Barbara Tam, Rochester; Bryan L. and wife Julia Tam, Fulton; Brett and wife Jayne Tam, Fulton; grandchildren: Kelly Shidler (Adam), Rochester; Alicia Helt (Ryan), Rochester; Mitchell Tam, Fulton; Austin Tam (Braxton), Pocatello, Idaho; Courtney Tam and fiance’ Wes Webber, South Bend; Lauren Tam and fiance’ Ross Raffel, Fulton; step- grandson, Brian Gerald (Kelly), Rochester; great grandchildren, Maggie and Kate Helt, Rochester; step-great grandchildren: Justin Gerald, Fort Wayne; Brant Gerald, Rochester; Devin Gerald, Warsaw; Tristan Gerald, Atlanta, Ga.; Kendall Gerald, Skylar Gerald, Clair Gerald, all of Lebanon, Ohio; sister-in-law, Cozetta Grable, Rochester; brother-in-law, Larry “Bud” and wife Joyce Baird, Fulton; niece, Sarah McCann (Tom) South Carolina; nephews, John Baird, Kansas City, Mo.; Jim Baird, Twelve Mile, and Allen Baird, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and step grandson, Corey Gerald.
Private services will be observed. Interment will take place at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Lodge Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester
