Carl J. Strike, 76, North Manchester, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 in Parkview Wabash Hospital, Wabash.

He was born October 5, 1940 in Franklin County, Penn. to Ray L. and Myrte M. (Garber) Strike. He graduated from Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg, Penn. in 1958. On Jan. 15, 1961 he married Esther J. Brovont.  He was a retired farmer and also worked 23 years at Manchester University, North Manchester.

Carl was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester, where he was an Elder.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Strike, North Manchester; sons: Leroy R. (Lorna) Strike, Boones Mill, VA and Samuel C. Strike, North Manchester; daughters: Mary Louise (Floyd) Bowman, North Manchester; and Ruth E. (Dan) Winger, North Manchester; brothers: Lloyd A. (Mary Ruth) Strike, Eaton, Ohio; and Eldon R. (Jane) Strike, Boones Mill, Va.; sister, Elsie Mae (Keith) Martin, Elkhart; brother-in-law, Marlin (Lorraine) Spurrier, North Manchester; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

One sister, Ada Catherine Spurrier, is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, State Road 13, North Manchester. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, State Road 13, North Manchester, IN.  Home Brethren will officiate.  Burial will be in Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, North Manchester.
