
Duane Austin Kemper, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 in his residence.
On May 3, 1935, he was born in Ladysmith, Wisc. to Karl and Mary E. (Oungst) Kemper. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Owen on Aug. 30, 1980 in Winona Lake, who survives.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Duane worked for Ferguson Farms and then Cardinal Center in the janitorial department, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church and Warsaw New Harvest Church of the Nazarene. He was also an avid fan of the World Champion Chicago Cubs.
Duane is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Kemper, Warsaw; and three sisters, Allegra (and spouse Thomas) Simpson, North Chili, N.Y.; Mertie (and spouse Charles) Karafa, Clio, Mich.; and Carolyn (and spouse Paul) Northrup, Valatie, N.Y.; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Jonathan Duane Karafa.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Bill Keen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 4–6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 in the funeral chapel.
