
Denzie Wright, 78, North Fort Myers, Fla. and formerly of Syracuse, passed away Aug. 24, 2016 in Florida.
He was born Jan. 9, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to Denzie and Ada (Thacker) Wright.
He graduated from High School in Ohio, formerly lived in Canada and moved to the Syracuse area 31 years ago from southern Indiana before retiring to Florida. He was married Dec. 5, 1959 to Martha E. Combs, who preceded him on May 17, 2004 and on Aug. 23, 2012 to Beverly McNeal, who survives. He was formerly employed at Kinro in Syracuse in the sales department for many years, Phillips Industries in Ohio, Oregon, and Georgia, and former owner/operator of Thomden Van Accessories in Canada.
He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3760 in Syracuse and Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse.
He is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Blake) Shortill, Syracuse; two sons: Denzie (Jackie) Wright Jr., Port St. Joe, Fla.; Timothy (Tammy) Wright, Pendelton, Ore.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Barker, Middletoown, Ohio; former wife, Beverly McNeal, North Fort Myers, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Syracuse Cemetery, Mill St., Syracuse. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of local arrangements.
