Dana L. Arthur, 68, Syracuse, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 in the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.

She was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Las Cruces, N.M. to Roy M. and Martha J. (Bragg) Durbin.

She graduated in 1965 from Lee L. Driver High School in Winchester and attended Ball State in Muncie and Indiana University East in Richmond. She was married Oct. 12, 1974 in Union City to Daniel E. “Dan” Arthur who survives. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1976 from Union City. She retired in 2012 as a paraprofessional school teacher who had taught at Goshen, West Noble, and Wawasee Schools for 32 years.

She formerly attended the Friends Church & United Methodist Church in Winchester.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Arthur; two sisters: Deanna Mishler and Deb (Mike) Mangas, all of Warsaw; two nephews: Tim (Ann) Mangas, Warsaw; and Tom Mangas, Austin, Texas; two great nephews: Jake and Kyle Mangas, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 2– 4 and 6– 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
