WARSAW — There was no one speaking against two plats presented for final approval at the Warsaw Planning Commission meeting Tuesday evening, Dec. 13. Plats were approved for Harrison Lake Development LLC and Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County.

The Harrison Lake Development request was for 13 lots in section two of Harrison Ridge subdivision on the northeast side of Husky Trail, north of Harrison Elementary School. Jeremy Skinner, city planner, reported the developer completed the construction of the infrastructure for the project, which has been inspected and approved by the city. It is also in conformance with the preliminary plat granted in 2006.

The Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County final plat was for three lots on Godman and Columbia Streets. The preliminary plat was presented in August. At that time the commission made three recommendations: ingress and egress access remain through the existing easements including the proposed 10-foot Columbia Street extension, a 25-foot utility easement be included to provided public utility infrastructure for the Columbia Street extension, and the utility easement provide space to place a new sanitary sewer main to serve both lots.

Skinner reported the recommendations were completed and the new sewer line installed. James Emans, commission member and city engineer, stated an air test of the line is scheduled and he sees no reason not to approve the request. He also noted no taps to that line would be allowed until any problems found through the test are rectified.

The final matter of business for the commission was to approve the 2017 meeting schedule. The commission approved meetings to be held at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.
