William F. “Bill” Sheppard, 86, Wabash, died at 5:10 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor East in Wabash.

He was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Wabash, to Floyd and Golda (Dyer) Sheppard.

Bill married Joyce B. Floor, in Wabash, on March 20, 1948; she died Aug. 17, 2004. He worked 36 years at Diehl Machines in Wabash, retiring in August 1995 and also worked 12 years at General Electric in Wabash.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his two grandkids.

He is survived by two children: Rex A. Sheppard, Wabash; and Lorraine (John) Powell, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Tiffany Powell, Indianapolis; and Cory Sheppard, Lafayette; and one great grandson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Wayne William Sheppard, and his sister, Doris Lord.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, 1100 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating.  Burial will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Wabash.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the mausoleum.  Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
