Triton Basketball: Trojans Pick Up The Pace

FULTON – It was a matter of confidence for the Triton girls basketball team Saturday evening at Caston. Increasing its point total each quarter, Triton dusted Caston 62-22 in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup.

Triton managed just eight first-quarter points, but then turned in quarters of 17, 18 and 19 to close out the Comets.

Hannah Wanemacher paced the Trojans with 13 points and added four steals. Whytnie Miller and Nicole Sechrist each finished with 10 points and combined for 13 rebounds and five steals. Kaitlin Bailey had eight points and three blocks, and Sara Stevens had seven points, five assists, five steals and three rebounds.

Triton forced a whopping 31 turnovers and converted those into 32 points. The Trojans also outrebounded Caston 39-23.

Krysta Schnalaub had nine points for the Comets (3-8, 0-1 HNAC).

Triton (3-9, 2-1 HNAC) will host Rochester Wednesday evening, Caston will take on Pioneer Tuesday night.
