Frank J. Layne, 89, Burket, passed Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at his residence.

He was born June 1, 1927 in Phelps, Ky. to Orville and Clemtine (Hurley) Layne.

He married on May 12, 1947 in Pikeville, Ky. to Gladys M. Blankenship, who passed Aug. 19, 2004.

He was a mechanic for several area General Motors Dealerships. In years past he enjoyed socializing with friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Lechia (Joe) Manns, Claypool; his son, Freelin Layne, Claypool; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys; his daughter, Edna Presley; a sister and four brothers.

No service are planned to take place at this time.

A remembrance place will be at the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
