Valley Basketball: Eagles Soar In Second Half

CULVER – Culver Academy took off in the second half Tuesday night in defeating Tippecanoe Valley, 63-41, in boys basketball.
The Eagles (3-0) held just an 18-15 lead at halftime, but exploded in the third quarter, scoring 23 points then adding 22 more in the fourth quarter. Ethan Brittain-Watts led the way for the Academy with 20 points and added three steals.
Dylan Powell chipped in 13 points and Ignas Masiulionis had six points, eight rebounds and two steals for the Eagles.
Valley (2-2) had Keith Wright lead the way with 14 points and a pair of steals, and Jarod Duzenbery added 13 points and two blocks. Alec Craig, after scoring 34 points against Knox Friday night, was held to just nine points.
Culver Academy won the rebounding battle, 25-12, and forced Valley into 18 turnovers.
The Academy will visit Portage while Valley will stop in at John Glenn, both Saturday night.
