
Harlan E. Hull, 62, a lifelong Columbia Township resident, died at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne following a surgical heart procedure.
He was born Jan. 13, 1954 in Columbia City, a son of Treverse W.J. and Lela R. (Culp) Hull. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1972.
On Sept. 15, 1979 he was united in marriage to Sally J. Shultz.
He was employed at Anderson Shroyer Tractor, Copp Farm Supply, VanGorder Sales in Avilla and retired from Kerlin Tractor Sales in Silver Lake.
He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and served on the Columbia Township Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sally; three children, Corey A. (Brittney) Hull, Valdosta, Ga.; Dustin E. (Korinne) Hull, Canton, Ohio; and Amber E. (Jordan) Hoffman of South Whitley; three granddaughters: twins Lindsay and Kelsey Hoffman and Charlotte Hull; a sister and a brother, Grace Jenkins and Harold Hull, both of South Whitley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, William Hull; and a sister, Joyce Maldeney.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Nolt Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Columbia Township Fire Department or Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
