Bethel Basketball: Pilots Open Crossroads Play With Win

MISHAWAKA – The Bethel College Pilots returned to the winning column in a 86-64 win against Huntington University in men’s basketball Tuesday night.

The Pilots shot 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the three-point stripe. The Pilots held the Foresters to 41 percent shooting and just 24 percent from behind the arc.

Sophomore guard Trey’von Covington led the way for the Pilots with 19 points going 7-of-9 from the field. Caleb Oetjen added 18 points with three assist and two rebounds. Jordyn Coon finished the night with his first double-double of the season with 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Gage Ott finished the night with 13 points while Ryan Wassink added six points and eight rebounds.

The Foresters were led by senior forward Daniel Woll, who finished the night with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pilots continue Crossroads League play on Saturday as they travel to Grace for a men’s-women’s doubleheader. The women’s game starts at 1 p.m. followed by the men’s contest.
