MILFORD — The following events will take place at the Milford Public Library:
Plan to attend the first Ivy Tech Meet and Greet Program at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5. Kathy Kurosky, associate director of admissions, will be presenting a program filled with information about Ivy Tech. What do you really know about community college? Are you considering going to college? Are you concerned about how to pay for your education? Kurosky will have information that will help answer your questions and make a good decision for your future. Whether you are graduating from high school in the spring or heading back to school after many years in the workforce, Ivy Tech has something for you.
Friends of the Library
Thanks to all who bought baked goods and other items during the Friends of the Library Books and Bake Sale. If you want to be a part of the group that arranges programs and raises money for the library’s programs and services, come to the Friends of the Library meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the teen area.
Lego Crew
Children ages five and up will have a great time using their imaginations and building with Lego blocks on at 10 a.m. Dec. 10. Lego Crew meets the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet new friends and spend some time together creating new worlds with building blocks.
Teen Book Club
Be sure to come to the library at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, to watch the movie based on the great book the teens have been reading, “The Maze Runner.” The movie is rated PG-13 and runs 113 minutes. There will be free refreshments. Maybe watching the movie will inspire you to read other books in the series: “The Scorch Trials”; “The Death Cure”; “The Kill Order”; and “The Fever Code,” all written by James Dashner. “The Fever Code” was just released in September. All these books are available at the library.
Staff Recommendation
Lee Baumgartner, children’s clerk, recommends the recently published “Apprentice in Death” for its quick pace and interesting storyline. Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, pulls together a new suspenseful tale about Lieutenant Eve Dallas in this 43rd installment of her “In Death” series, available at Milford Public Library.
