Wawasee Swimming: Warriors No Match For Knights

KENDALLVILLE — The Wawasee girls swim team picked up another win Tuesday night. The ladies made easy work of East Noble to earn a 109-71 victory. Wawasee won nine events on the night, including two relays.
Paige Miller took first in both the 200 free (2:01.14) and 500 free (5:19.06). Alyssa Koch was first in the 100 back with a time of 1:10.24. Shelby Adams won both the 200 IM (2:23.26) and the 100 breast (1:13.63). Kaia Manning earned a top spot in the 50 free with her final time of 27.74. The other individual winner on the night was Riley Kunkle who scored a 149.25 in the evening’s diving portion.
In the relays Wawasee was second in the 200 medley with a time of 2:07.19. East Noble took first with a 2:06.80. In the 200 free relay Wawasee won behind the team of Ebba Bjurman, Lizzy Brugh, Manning and Miller. The group swam a 1:53.30. The 400 free relay team swam a 4:06.43 with team members Ella Park, Koch, Adams and Miller.
East Noble’s lone individual event winners were Hannah Guthrie in the 100 fly (1:13.21) and Hannah Denton in the 100 free (1:02.13).
Wawasee (2-0) will host Warsaw in a boys/girls meet this Saturday at Wawasee Middle School.
