FULTON – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team dropped its opener 59-47 at Caston Tuesday night.
The Comets led 16-7 after the first quarter and 30-17 at intermission en route to the victory.
Josh McDaniel led the way offensively for LCA with 19 points.
Jake Harmon scored nine points and Noah Twombly added six for the Cougars. Landon Twombly had five points and Elijah Raymond and Jeremy Gross each finished with four for LCA. Noah Twombly grabbed six rebounds, while Raymond had four caroms and Landon Twombly six assists.
Eli Douglass scored a game-high 20 points to lead four players in double figures for the Comets.
Caston won the junior varsity game 41-16. Trenton Parker led LCA with 12 points.
LCA (0-1) hosts Bethany Christian Nov. 29. Caston (1-0) plays at Wabash on Dec. 6.
