NORTH WEBSTER — What do you really know about community college? Come to the North Webster Community Public Library 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, and learn about the affordable educational opportunities available for youth and working adults at Ivy Tech Community College. Admissions Coordinator Kathy Kurosky and Assistant Financial Aid Director Dave Wilson from the Warsaw campus will explain the many degree and certificate programs available along with financial aid and funding options. This program will provide valuable information for high school seniors planning to continue their education or working adults looking to enhance their careers. High school students, parents and adults are encouraged to attend.

If you are looking for an opportunity to have some fun while unleashing your inner artist, sign up for the Coffee and Canvas workshop 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3. Karla Hayden, artist/owner of The Happy Paint Brush, will provide step-by-step instruction for painting a charming country Christmas scene. No special talent is needed, just the willingness to have fun. The workshop includes an 11×14 canvas, painting supplies and refreshments. Pre-registration and payment is needed by Dec. 1 to participate. Those interested can sign up and pay at the library’s circulationdesk. Coffee and Canvas is for adults only.

Discussing historical fiction books is on the agenda for Voyager Book Club that meets 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28. In this book club, each month focuses on a specific genre and members read a book of their choosing within that genre to discuss and share with each other. It is an interesting way to explore a variety of books and authors while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow readers. Next month’s focus will be books by Indiana authors.

The Make and Take Card class, scheduled for Dec. 1, has been cancelled due to the instructor’s unavailability on that day. Held the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m., Make and Take will continue on Thursday, Jan. 5. Stop by the circulation desk to sign up for the January class or call (574) 834-7122.

Remember the North Webster Community Public Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25. The library will re-open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26.
