Stanley D. Lawrence, 77, Wabash, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at his home.

He was born to the late George Cecil and Effie Merlee (Brothers) Lawrence Jan. 8, 1939 in Wabash.

He was a 1957 graduate from Wabash High School. Stan married Joyce S. Snapp Sept. 4, 1960, she survives. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Stan was a member of the Church of Christ at Wabash, where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and was the 1985 Past Master of Hanna Masonic Lodge #61. Stan loved his church, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Along with his wife, Joyce; Stan is also survived by a son, Jeffery T. Lawrence of Montana; daughter, Tamara (Lindy) Unger of Wabash; brothers, Steven D. Lawrence (Sandra) of Yorktown; and Gary L. Lawrence (Sylvia) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Sondra D. Craft of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Zack (Casey) Unger Brandie (Jeremy) Thomas, Natalie (Skyler) Lawson, Josh Unger, Shane (Vanessa) Lawrence, and Eric Lawrence; and two great grandchildren, Dominick and Kielei Lu Lawrence.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21 at Church of Christ at Wabash, 1904 N. Wabash Street, Wabash, IN 46992, with Evangelist Josh Fennell officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Grant County. Preferred memorials are directed to Church of Christ at Wabash.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
