Local Residents Graduate From Warsaw Police Department’s Citizen Academy

WARSAW — The 21st class of the Warsaw Police Department Citizens Academy graduated on Nov. 10.

The class met 3.5 hours per week for 10 weeks. The program exposed citizens to a number of topics including WPD’s field training program, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, narcotics unit, dive team, K-9 unit, gangs and the D.A.R.E. and school resource officer program.

Additionally, citizens were informed of the different aspects of police work including firearms and defensive tactics. The Citizen’s Academy is administered by Sgt. Greg Oberlin.
