Maria J. Guevara, 70, New Paris, died Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2016 at Goshen Hospital.

She was born March 15, 1946 in McAllen, Texas to Manuel N. and Aurora (Juarez) Guevara.

Survivors include two sisters, Angela Guevara, Elkhart; and Gracie (Adam) Mingucha, Goshen; and two brothers, Pedro Guevara, New Paris; and David Guevara, Indianapolis.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Aurora Guevara.

An area resident since 1960, Maria was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  She worked for many years at Smoker-Craft, New Paris until her retirement.  She enjoyed sewing and knitting for loved ones.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, with the Rosary service beginning at 7:45 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will take place Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen.  Father Eloy Jiminez will officiate.

Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery.
