New Items at the Library
Enjoy November’s chilly weather by reading new adult fiction “A Christmas Message” by Anne Perry or “The Wrong Side of Goodbye” by Michael Connelly outside. New novels in adult large print include “The Whistler” by John Grisham and “Pushing Up Daisies” by M.C. Beaton. Get a head start on the holiday season by reading new Christian fiction “An Amish Family Christmas” by Shelley Shepard Gray and “A Baxter Family Christmas” by Karen Kingsbury. Kevin Sullivan’s Encyclopedia of Sports Entertainment: the Definitive Guide to WWE is a great choice for wrestling fans.
Discover a new TV show to love by watching Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” first season, or begin watching “Outlander”, the second season has just arrived. Bon Jovi’s “This House is Not for Sale” and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars, out Nov. 18, are perfect CDs to play while raking leaves or roasting s’mores at a bonfire.
Kids can have fun dancing to “Let All the Children Boogie: a Tribute to David Bowie”, “Disney’s Moana” Soundtrack to the new Disney movie, out Nov. 18, and “Kidz Bop 33”. Children can also spend chilly days inside watching movies, “Barbie and Her Sisters in a Puppy Chase” and “The Wild Life”, out Nov. 29, and found in Adult Department.
Family Movie Day
Join us for Family Movie Day at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, in the Library Meeting Room. Dory, a blue tang fish with memory loss, wants to find her family. With help from friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory goes on an adventure. This PG-rated comedy will last an hour and a half. Refreshments will be served.
Library Closings
The library will be closed Nov. 24 and 25 for Thanksgiving. We’re thankful for all our patrons and this wonderful community.
Nutrition Program
Jackie Franks, the Health and Human Sciences Educator at Kosciusko County Purdue Extension, will present the program “Healthy Holiday Eating” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the library’s meeting room. Franks will give everyone ideas on substitutions that people can make in traditional holiday recipes for a healthier twist. She will bring a dish to sample. There will be door prizes given away at the end of the program. If you would like to learn how you can make your holiday dishes healthier, plan to attend.
