Valley Basketball: Vikings Crush CGA

Tippy Valley SportsCULVER – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team took its show on the road again Tuesday night.

The outstanding squad put on another show too.

The Vikings put five players in double figures in routing host Culver Academies 82-37.

Valley, ranked No. 4 in the latest Class 3-A poll, improves to 2-0 on the young season. The Vikings will play their first five games on the road to open the year before hosting their own Thanksgiving Classic Tournament on Nov. 26.

Senior star Anne Secrest had a stat filler of a night for the Vikings. The tough center popped in 16 points to go with 21 rebounds. The Youngstown State recruit also dished out seven assists in the lopsided win.

Valley led 23-8 after the opening stanza and built its advantage to 43-15 at halftime.

Addy Miller netted 15 points and Meredith Brouyette added 14 for the Vikings. Emily Peterson scored 11 and Hannah Dunn finished with 10. Miller also had seven rebounds and Peterson had six steals.

Valley (2-0) plays at Logansport next Tuesday night. Culver Academies (1-1) hosts Rochester Thursday night.
