
WINONA LAKE – Erik Bowen’s impressive start to his junior season resulted in two Player of the Week awards on Tuesday.
Bowen was named the Crossroads League and the NCCAA Player of the Week after leading Grace’s men’s basketball team to an 89-82 upset of No. 22 St. Xavier.
Bowen had a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds, adding 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block as well. In the final 4:30 of regulation, he tallied four points and two assists to help clinch the road upset of the Cougars.
Bowen has now been named the NCCAA Player of the Week two consecutive weeks.
The Lancers continue their season on Tuesday night with a home game against Lawrence Tech at 7 p.m. Grace will end the week with a tournament at Trinity International on Friday and Saturday.
