
Rita A. Miller, 61, Nappanee, died at 4:55 am, Friday, Nov. 4, at Goshen Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday after a short illness. She was born Feb. 7, 1955 in Goshen to Marvin and Christine (Collinsworth) Miller.
Rita had lived her lifetime in Nappanee. She was a 1973 graduate of NorthWood High School. She had worked at Needlecraft in Elkhart.
Rita loved her family, twin brother, nieces and nephews. She was an accomplished athlete, playing softball for the best midwest traveling teams, Nappanee City Champion golfer and had bowled several perfect games, was in the Goshen Bowling Hall of Fame, and was an Indiana State 2005 Singles “Scratch’ Champion. She also was an artist.
Surviving is her twin brother, Rex Miller, Nappanee, niece, Juanita (Eric) Leamon, Wabash, nephew, Rob D. Straw, Elkhart, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Straw.
Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for now hour prior to the funeral service which will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
