INDIANA — More than 29 million Americans currently have diabetes and another 86 million are at risk, making support and supplies for this potentially life-threatening blood sugar disease critical. In raising awareness for American Diabetes Month this November, Shopko is hoping to ensure its communities stay healthy by offering free wellness screenings and stocking its shelves with top quality diabetes supplies.

Every 23 seconds a person is diagnosed with diabetes. To help in the fight against diabetes, Shopko is encouraging community residents to stop into their nearest Shopko for a wellness screening on Shopko’s higi machines to help track blood pressure, weight, BMI and pulse, and to speak with a pharmacist about preventative measures or management of a diabetes diagnosis.

Along with free wellness screenings, Shopko shelves will continue to be stocked with various diabetes supplies including glucose monitoring meters, glucose monitoring strips, lancets, pen needles and more. Additional services include:
