CLAYPOOL — Louis Dreyfus Company in Claypool recently hosted executives from Norfolk Southern Railway.

During the visit the team at Claypool presented local operations during a tour of the facilities, and shared an overview of LDC’s global reach and activities.

Among the guests from Norfolk Southern Railway were the group’s Executive VP and Chief Commercial Officer Alan Shaw, Executive VP and COO Mike Wheeler and recently appointed CEP Jim Squires, who had not had the opportunity to visit Claypool before.

Located on its main line, Claypool is Norfolk Southern’s biggest customer in the area, shipping some 15,000 rail cars each year along the railway.

The day was an opportunity for the executive team to learn more about the LDC as a global industry leader, and discover Claypool’s diverse products, from food to fuel, offered to customers ranging from soybean farmers to feed manufacturers. The visit gave Norfolk Southern a better understanding of the complexity of the plant’s soybean processing activities, and insight into how it might enhance its customer service offer to Claypool.
