SILVER LAKE —  Shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a call of an off road vehicle collision in the 14000 block of North CR 300W, Wabash County.

Timothy Bradford, 57, Silver Lake, was operating the ATV on private property when he collided with a tree. The ATV sustained major damage. Bradford was thrown from the vehicle without a helmet and sustained fatal injuries. A preliminary test showed Bradford had a blood alcohol content of .28 percent, over three times the legal limit.

It is believed alcohol, speed and a lack of safety equipment contributed to the fatal collision.

Indiana Conservation Officers are continuing to investigate the incident. Never use alcohol while operating off road vehicles and always wear a helmet.
