Jehu Smith, 78, Macy, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

On Jan. 10, 1938, Jehu was born in Hamburg, Ark. to Virgil and Ludie Thornhill Smith.

Jehu and Maxie Earline Sled Smith were married on Oct. 25, 1957. They shared 59 years of life’s adventures.

Jehu is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maxie; two daughters: Susan Szabo of Sarasota, Fla.; Lori Rich of Hammond; a son, Mark Smith and wife Evie of Morrisville, N.C.; six grandchildren: Nicole Rich, Sunny Rich, Tillie Rich, Markus Smith, Morgan Smith, and Mathew Smith; three great grandsons: Alex, “Little Bit”, and Dylan; two sisters: Ruth McKay of Little Rock, Ark.; and Annie Pummill of Cabot, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jehu in death are his parents and a sister Lydia Broomfield.

Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery of Macy.
