Carol Anne Werstler, formerly of Leesburg, passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, at the age of 73.
Carol was a 1961 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a 45 year resident of Kosciusko County. For a number of years she had worked as a legal secretary and bookkeeper. In 1971 she started working for Quality Farm & Fleet in Warsaw for 29 years. Prior to her retirement in 2010 she had worked at Lowes in Warsaw.
Carol loved gardening, canning, baking, and football, especially the Chicago Bears. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was born Dec. 21, 1942 in Peru to Waldo Bostel and Ruth (Fields) Bostel. On Dec. 6, 1980 she was married to Daniel Rex Werstler, who passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2015.
She will lovingly be remembered by her son: Rodney (wife Mindi) Poehler (Frankfort, Ohio); three daughters: April (husband Tony) Kindig (Warsaw); Dawn (husband Dennis) Boggs (Warsaw); Robin Williamson (Leesburg); eight grandchildren: Danielle, Andrea, David, Briana, Carissa, Dean, Taby, and Trevor; and two great-grandchildren: Addison and Luke. Also surviving are her brother: Dick (wife Shelly) Fields (Plainfield); and sister: Priscilla (husband Thames) Goon (Warsaw).
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her son Michael.
Visitation will be held from 3–5 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Chaplain Anne Mitchell. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery of Pierceton.
