NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man with a history of theft convictions was arrested after stealing a wakeboard from Main Channel Marina.

Joshua Michael Kindt, 102 East Epworth Forest Road, North Webster is being charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor and a sentence enhancement for prior thefts, a level 6 felony.
On June 16, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a theft at Main Channel Marina. An employee observed a white male subject, Kindt, grab a wakeboard, leave the building without paying, place it a tan Chevy Tahoe and drive away. The officer spoke with a second employee who confirmed the story.
On June 20, the officer interviewed Kindt at his North Webster residence. Kindt advised that he took the wakeboard without paying for it because he was having financial troubles. He further stated that it was stupid and he regretted stealing it. The officer took the wakeboard and returned it to Main Channel Marina.
Kindt has two previous convictions for theft in Elkhart County Superior Court IV on May 16, 2012 and on May 6, 2011.
Kindt was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 10 with a $3,000 surety and cash bond.
