Warsaw Optimists Hosts Awards Meeting, Donates To Tiger Basketball

WARSAW — The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club held its annual awards meeting recently. The outgoing officers donated $26,305 to kid’s programs in the Warsaw Community during the 2015-2016 season.

Present were outgoing Optimist officers, Brooke Hamstra, Michele Bickel, Doug Baumgardner, Trace Hansen, Andy Swihart, Trina Hoy and George Brennan.

The club also donated $200 to Tiger Basketball.  Doug Ogle, representing Warsaw Community Schools, and Jeff Owens representing The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club exchanged the check. Through various fundraising activities during the year, the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club raises nearly $30,000 to donate to youth oriented activities.

Join the Club as a guest on any Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. for the breakfast meeting at the Shrine Building in the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.  The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is the number one Optimist Club in the state of Indiana and number six in the world.  It is also the proud recipient of the 2013 Heart of Gold Award presented by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
