BOURBON – Thursday’s excitement at the Trojan Trench wasn’t just a celebration of Triton’s senior class. The Trojans pieced together a solid win against a sectional rival, beating South Central (Union Mills) 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

A pair of seniors had a big hand in the victory, with Quinn Downing leading the defense with 12 digs and Tyana Spencer serving a pair of aces.

Emma Ross also had two aces while Nicole Sechrist had 13 kills, Courtney Jennings had eight kills and Hannah Wanemacher had 30 assists.

Triton and South Central have met in the sectional tournament in each of the last four years, Triton taking three of those four meetings.

The South Central JV won against Triton 25-22, 25-17.

Triton (18-10) will visit Wawasee next Tuesday.
