Johnson Excels On The Links

golfWINONA LAKE – Dr. Darrell Johnson, a man well known on the local golf scene, completed a very successful season playing on the Golf Channel AM Tour.

Johnson, who is the Chairman of the Sports Management Department at Grace College, won six tournaments during his second year on the Tour. He competes in the Senior Sarazen Flight.

Johnson, who has been at Grace College for the past three decades, won the Southern Ohio Open, The Open Championship, The Indiana State Championship, The Big Ten Championship, The Indianapolis Match Play Championship and The Fuzzy Open.

Johnson has qualified for the AM Tour National Championship both of his years on the Tour. He competes in the Indianapolis Tour with his son Scott, who is a Lakeland Christian Academy graduate. Johnson is a member of the Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw.

The AM Tour, powered by The Golf Channel,  is the largest amateur tour in North America. The Golf Channel Amateur Tour provides an authentic Professional Tour quality experience for players of all ages and abilities. Players compete at their skill level on elite golf courses across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Players of all ages and skill sets compete in 12 flights, including six senior flights. There are active tours in over 50 cities.
