SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Wawasee area is hosting a pregame parade before the football game on Friday, Sept. 30. The parade is part of the torch celebration in Kosciusko County. The Syracuse Library is highlighting the torch in the wilderness and invites anyone with period costumes to walk with the group. The library is interested in dogs and other animals that might be calm enough to join the parade. Of course, the library staff is happy to assist any people with their float entries for historical accuracy or fashion ideas.

The Syracuse Library has confirmed that microgreens growers, Jay Wright and Henrietta Crose, along with food blogger, oh sweet mercy, will be bringing their favorite kale dishes to a local foods celebration on at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The evening is combining a section of the book, “Where am I Eating?” with some recipes old and new and some tastes of dishes using kale. Copies of the book are available to read before the drop in event “Are You Cool Enough for Kale?”
