Michael Scott Hayes, 26, Mishawaka, formerly Silver Lake, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Feb. 20, 1990 in Goshen, to Scott Hayes and Sally (Hoover) Arter. He was engaged to Katie Gibson, Warsaw. He was a press operator for PAC Bannerworks in Mishawaka. He was always in a good mood and loved to laugh and joke. Michael never knew a stranger. He enjoyed music of all kinds and was an accomplished guitar player. He liked many sports and enjoyed playing frisbee golf. Michael loved animals and spent his time fishing on Hill Lake.

Michael is survived by his fiancée: Katie Gibson, Warsaw; his father: Scott (Debi) Hayes, Syracuse; his mother: Sally (Rich) Arter, Jones, Mich.; his step-sister: Katrina (James) Neal, Jones, Mich.; two step-brothers: Neil Lindgren, Boise, Idaho; Nick (Kayla) Lindgren, Arcaida, Calif.; maternal grandmother: Paula Decker, Mishawaka; three sons: Elijah, Aaron and Graysen; three nephews: Justin, Aaron and Dillon Neal; a niece: Kaelyn Neal; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded by his brother: Aaron Hayes; both paternal grandparents; and a maternal grandfather.

Those wishing to visit with the family may do so from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. at Titus Funeral Home. Private family services will be held afterwards. Michael will be buried in Germantown Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Welfare League.

Titus Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
