Phillip L. Scott — UPDATED
Phillip L. “Phil” Scott, 69, died Monday, Aug. 29, at 7:19 p.m. in his Winona Lake home.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1936, Marion, Indiana to his father, Carl L. Scott and his mother Mary J. (Lee) Scott.
He was a 1954 graduate of Mississinewa High School, Gas City. He married Margaret “Peg” Fixel, on Sept. 6, 1990, Marion.
Scott entered the National Guard Mar. 6, 1956. SP4 Phillip L. Scott was honorably discharged Mar. 5, 1963
Scott lived in Winona Lake and was employed as a machinist by Chrysler in the Transmissions Group for 32 years. He was a longtime member of the UAW Union. Scott enjoyed gardening and fishing; had been involved with the Warsaw Citizens Police Academy
Scott is survived by three children: Patricia Mae Thomas, Charleston, W. Va.; Kathy Jo, W. Va.; Michael E. Scott, Kokomo; one sister, Marjorie (James) Jones, Warren; two step daughters, Margaret Miller, Hartford City; Melissa, Ill. ; and one step son, Richard Bradley, Ill.
Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peg” Scott, who died April 25, 2013, and his parents Carl L. and Mary J. Scott
