Triton Football: Comets Win The Grudge Match
FULTON – Caston held Triton to just 104 total yards and made its one score count in a 6-0 win Friday night.
Carson Gates scored from five yards out in the first quarter serving as the only scoring of the night. Caston missed the two-point conversion on the play.
The Comets then dug in and kept Triton from establishing anything on the offensive side of the ball. Caston forced Triton into three turnovers and limited the visitors to just 19 rushing yards.
Caston also kept the momentum on its side in key moments, converting seven of nine fourth down plays despite making a first down on one of 13 attempts on third down. Caston would rush for 255 total yards to chew up the clock, led by Kasey Ault’s 96 yards and Gates’ 85.
Zac Pitney had four catches for 43 yards and a 45-yard kickoff return to lead Triton, which lost to Caston Friday night for the first time since 2012.
The Trojans (0-1) will visit LaVille next week while Caston (1-0) will host North Judson.
