Wanda ‘Alice’ Good

WandaGoodWanda “Alice” Good, Plymouth, formerly of Lakeville, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old.

She was born Dec. 21, 1926, Plymouth, a daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Schrom) Green, and has remained a lifelong resident of Marshall County

On Nov. 8, 1943, in Rochester, Alice was united in marriage to Robert Good, the love of her life.  Together, they enjoyed 69 years of marriage until his passing on Feb. 2, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Janet; a sister: Janet Thornburg; and five brothers: Donald; Richard; Robert; Max; and Joe Green.

Alice retired in 1986 from the LaVille School Corp. where she worked for eighteen years as a cook.  She was a longtime member of the Church of God.  For many years, she was active in youth and children’s ministries, and teaching Sunday school.  In more recent years, she always looked forward to Tuesdays when the Bible study group would come to her home. That was always a highlight of her week.  She always enjoyed going fishing with Bob, and just loved having her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren close by.

Alice is survived by three daughters: Roxie (Fred) Kline, Buchanan, Mich.; Jennifer (Edward) Leary, Plymouth; and Julie Hyche, Plymouth; two sons: Timothy (Susan) Good, LaPaz; and Mathew (Susan) Good, Lakeville; and son-in-law: Dan Hyche, Buchanan, Mich.; sisters: Dorothy Arnold, South Bend; Lois Miller, Plymouth; and Kay (Larry) Randt, North Liberty; along with 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services celebrating the life of Alice Good will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at South Side Church of God, South Bend, where the family will begin receiving friends from 2 p.m. until service time.  She will be laid to rest with her beloved Bob at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy on behalf of Mrs. Good may be offered to the Center for Hospice Care, Marshall County Office, Plymouth. The Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, assisting the Good family with arrangements.
